“With vívofit we are introducing a wellness band that ‘moves at the pace of everyone’s life’,” said Marc Bainbridge, Garmin Fitness Product Manager. “We are all challenged by personalised daily goals, or desk bound at the office. Vívofit is a great little reminder that nudges you to move and stay active. Being able to monitor the quality of rest after retiring for the night and doing so without having to charge the battery every few days, makes vívofit a wellness band that should be on everyone’s wrist.”

Whether taking a Sunday stroll, going for a run or playing with the kids, this fitness band will keep you on the move, at your own pace. To see the vívofit in action, go to www.garmin.co.za/vivo.

Achievable Daily Goals:
Vívofit tracks users’ current activity level, then assigns an attainable daily goal whilst recording calories burned throughout the day. As milestones are met, vívofit will adjust the goal for the next day, gradually nudging users towards a healthier lifestyle.

Tells Time and “Time to move”:
Research has shown prolonged periods of inactivity such as sitting at a desk decreases the body’s production of fat-burning enzymes, but by taking frequent and short walking breaks throughout the day, users can reverse this. While it is easy to lose track of time and forget to move, vívofit knows and will alert you with a red Move Bar, which builds as users remain sitting for too long and appears on the display after 1 hour of inactivity. However by walking for a couple of minutes, vívofit will reset the move bar and get users out of the red and inactive stage.

1+ Year Battery Life:
Vívofit follows progress 24/7 and it can stay on for more than a year without a battery change.

Monitor Sleep:
Vívofit records data during sleep mode so while a user is sleeping, vívofit will monitor the quality of rest users are getting.

Track Progress:
With the touch of one button, users can wirelessly sync vívofit with Garmin Connect to see a complete picture of their progress, including total steps taken, goals as well as periods of movement and restful sleep. Users can also join online challenges and earn virtual badges for extra motivation. Users can access our free online community from their computer or on a compatible mobile device with the Garmin Connect Mobile app, and for existing Forerunner and Edge users, vivofit can be used to track their activity and recovery between training sessions.

Follow The Heart:
By using a heart rate monitor with vívofit to record heart rate and zone data, user’s will achieve more accurate calorie burn information for any fitness activity, such as a run or a cardio class at the gym.

Vívofit will be available in black, purple, teal, blue and slate and comes with small and large replaceable bands in the box. Vívofit will have a retail price of R1,899 and R2,299 (heart rate monitor bundle).
