COMRADES ROADSHOW TOUR TO FINISH OFF SUCCESSFUL RUN IN PRETORIA

The popular Comrades Marathon Roadshow will have completed over 14,000km in preparing runners for the 2009 Comrades Marathon when it makes its final two presentations in Pretoria this week.  It will have completed a successful run at 15 venues throughout the country

The popular and informative Comrades Marathon Roadshow is not to be missed and has attracted full houses at almost every venue at which it has appeared.  It will have interacted directly with over 3000 runners on completion.

The Roadshow consists of an entertaining and informative presentation aimed at inspiring participation in Comrades, as well as disseminating relevant information and expert advice aimed at enabling runners’ adequate preparation for the challenge.   It is designed to be of benefit to both novices and experienced runners alike.  Conducted by well known broadcasting personality Ian Laxton, it features the following format:

• Inspirational video
• Informational address by CMA Marketing Coordinator Thami Vilakazi
• Training and injury prevention by biokineticist and Comrades Coach Lindsey Parry
• Motivational address by special celebrity guest
• Opportunity for runners to address questions to the panel
• The programme ends with a quiz competition and prizes

 Date and venues for the final two Comrades Roadshows are as follows:

• Thursday 5 March 19h00 at Irene Road Running Club, Agricultural Research Council Irene Campus, Olifantsfontein Road, Pretoria
• Saturday 7 March 09h00 at Mazda Athletic Clubhouse, Simon Vermooten Road, Watloo, Pretoria.

Entry is free to all prospective Comrades Marathon runners.  Proceedings last approximately 2 hours.
