| Route Description: |
Route Type: Circular The marathon comprises two laps of the half marathon route. The start, from the Benoni smallholdings, takes you through Rynfield and Northmead before the easy and flat sections towards High Road. It is fairly flat to the 11-kilometre mark, where there is a downhill stretch to the 15-kilometre mark and the half marathon split.
For the half marathon runners, there is a challenging and lengthy climb to the 19-kilometre mark. From here, the run home to Old Ben’s is a pleasant downhill stretch. The scenery constantly changes on this route which adds interest to an easy race.
Johnson Crane Hire displays some of the largest cranes in Africa at the finish.
