| Route Description: |
Route Type: Point to point
Most of the races in Cape Town have a special magical appeal, and the Peninsula Marathon is no exception. The marathon starts outside the old margarine factory near Dido Valley Road. The route goes along the Main Road to the Fish Hoek circle, left along Kommetjie Road to the robot at the top of Sun Valley and then left up and over Black Hill back to the main road in Glencairn. Turn right at the start of Red Hill, up and over then past the Cape of Good Hope Nature reserve and back to the Naval Sports Grounds.
The half marathon starts outside the Simon's Town Station to the circle in Fish Hoek then along the Main Road. Left at Kommetjie Road to the robot at the top of Sun Valley and then left over Black Hill back to the main road in Glencairn. Turn right into the Main Road and back to Simon's Town to finish at the Naval Sports grounds.

The Powerade Peninsula Marathon has been consistently ranked by the Runner’s World race judges as a well organised and well presented event. Over the last four years it achieved distinction and a place in South Africa’s best loved races. The half featured in the rankings as well and has been regularly voted as one of the top twenty half marathons.
The half marathon starts at 07h00 from the Simon's Town Station and the eight-kilometre fun walk starts at 08h30 in Main/Jackson Roads, Simon's Town.
