Entries are taken at the start from 17h00 on the day before the race. Late entries are taken on the morning of the race from 04h30.

Route Type: Circular
This is a fast and flat race from Welkom to Odendaalsrus, and through Riebeeckstad.

| Prizes and Give-Aways: |
| All category winners receive gold medals. All runners who finish the marathon in less than 03:00 or the half marathon within 01:24 win silver, and all other finishers who make the cut-off get bronze medals. |

Walkers are welcome to enter the half marathon and 10-kilometre events. This is one of the oldest marathons in the Free State. It will be held for the 30th time in 2008. It is also the first Free State marathon of the year and is an easy early qualifier.
