Any display of foolhardy exuberance in the early stages will be paid for dearly in the second half. The fast and flat route through Kenmare tells you nothing of the hills to come. The initial rolling climbs could lull you into a sense of comfort, beware. By the time you get to Libertas and Lindhout Streets you soon get the picture, this is more Moordheuwel and less Noordheuwel. The true tester waits for you on Dublin Street, a hill surely where reputations are made and broken. Take your time and grind, the end will come soon enough. Finally you are back in Kenmare where you can proudly trot into the stadium.
