Pre-entries at sport shops close on 29 April 2020 and via email or fax close on 28 April 2020.

Race labels for the 50 kilometre race to be collected on Friday evening from 18h00 at Gill Primary School or morning of race at the: Pearston Town Hall from 04h15 Race labels for the 25 kilometre race to be collected at the top of Bruintjieshoogte from 05h00 and the 15 kilometre race on the town side from Swaershoek Turn-off.

THE RUN



The route is both hilly and scenic. The first 12 kilometres are relatively flat and easy. There is a long stretch between the 13 and 26 kilometre marker boards that presents some challenging hills. A fair amount of the race is run alongside the Kamala Game Reserve fence where there are fantastic opportunities for game spotting. With some luck Kudu, Impala and Springbok are all there for the viewing.


FACILITES

There is budget accommodation available in the Gill School Hostel and camping on the rugby field at the finish. There will be a bus service to the start on the morning of the race.

EDITORS NOTES

The race celebrates its 43rd running in 2020, which arguably makes it the oldest ultra marathon in the Eastern Cape. This event is an absolute must for old campaigners who want to experience a new challenge. The fields are small and this means every runner gets that ‘special’ attention. The ultra marathon starts at the Pearston Town Hall at 05h00.

The 25 kilometre event starts at the top of Bruintjieshoogte at 06h00 and the 15 kilometre race starts two kilometres on the Somerset East side from the Swaershoek turn-off at 06h00. Take care when driving to the venue - Kudu often cross the roads and have caused numerous road accidents. For this reason, the organisers invite you to stay over on the Friday evening for a pasta party.
