This is a beautiful run over the scenic Michell’s Pass. The route is moderately undulating with an easy, mainly downhill first half. After starting with a short loop in town you head up a short hill to the highest point of the pass then it is a long downhill run to the turning point. After turning there is a gentle four-kilometre climb between the 13 and 17 kilometre markers before a steep, challenging pull to the 19 kilometre mark at the highest point of the pass, overlooking the town. The last two kilometres are an easy canter to the end. The 10 kilometre race is run partly through orchards and is on a flat gravel road.
