MADEIRA MOUNTAIN CHALLENGE
THE RUN
Every mountain race has its challenge. The route goes past the cemetery and onto the N6. The first eight kilometres should present little problem. The next four kilometre climb to the top of Madeira Mountain is done in zigzag fashion. It is demanding but the return journey offers some respite. The 16 kilometre route turns before ascending the Mountain.

Walkers are welcome to enter the 16 kilometre race which excludes the mountain route and has a 2:30 time limit. The 24 kilometre route up the mountain is through privately owned property which is opened to the public especially for this event. The views from the top are spectacular and definitely worth the four kilometre slog.
