There are four distances to choose from. A challenging 50 kilometre event has recently been added.
The intermediate 25 kilometre route is designed for the more experienced runner. The opening stages are gravel roads on a testing hill. This is a sure-fire way of spreading a bunched field. This takes you to a vertical firebreak climb and onwards to a gnarly and exposed single track section. Once over the nek the route becomes forest track mixed in with wooded riverside single track to the halfway mark. To be sure – if you run your fastest time on this route you have missed the point.
The course features the long stretches of the intermediate run and veers off to circumnavigate the Berg River Dam.
The 15 kilometre beginner's trail is run mostly on forest tracks and gravel roads, with some single track. There are some short technical sections made up of loose rock and bushy terrain. There are moderate inclines and you may get your feet wet at river crossings.
Two mountain summits and two beautiful valleys.
