This scenic race offers the most beautiful panoramic views of South Africa’s capital throughout the race. The route winds through Pretoria's leafy ‘embassy suburbs’, Arcadia and Colbyn, and passes many grand foreign embassies. It returns to the Union Buildings where there is the notorious climb up Meintjieskop, via Tom Jenkins Drive. This 800 metre monster, constructed by Italian prisoners of war during World War II, is a legend in Pretoria's running circles. The race finishes on the lawns at the Union Buildings - the scene of many historic events in South Africa's past.
